Meet the Trainer

Jennie Kang, CPDT, is certified through the Association of Pet Dog Trainers. She is specially trained to work with fearful and aggressive dogs. Kang holds a Bachelor’s Degree with Honors in Animal Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Dog Training Group Classes

Puppy ABCs

A class designed to help socialize your new puppy and teach him basic obedience commands! Puppies must be 4 months and younger.

Classes are 1 hour in length, followed by a 15 minute discussion, and run for 6 weeks.

Basic Obedience 101

A Class designed to help dogs 5 months and older learn basic obedience skills. This class can also be used as a refresher class before intermediate obedience.

Classes are 1 hour in length, followed by a 15 minute discussion, and run for 6 weeks.

Intermediate Obedience

A continuing class designed to polish basic skills, introduce advanced obedience commands, and increase reliability while decreasing food dependence. The introduction to clicker training is optional.

Completion of Puppy ABCs, Basic Obedience 101, or instructor's consent required.

Classes are 1 hour in length and run for 6 weeks.

Advanced Ph.D Obedience

An advanced class designed for the ultimate dog star. High-level distraction and distance work for the final touch on your dog's obedience level. Begin off-leash training.

Requires instructor's consent.

Classes are 1 hour in length and run for 6 weeks.

Feisty Fido

A class designed to help the reactive dog and his owner. Dogs may be dog-dog reactive, human-dog reactive, shy or fearful of dogs or humans.

Requires a behavior assessment (at the shelter or in-home), and /or instructor's consent.

Classes are 1 hour in length and run for 6 weeks.

Make Way for Baby

A class designed to help parents-to-be with their dog's manners and behavior. Dogs of all ages welcome.

No Prerequisites required. Basic Obedience 101 and Intermediate Obedience are recommended.

Private Lessons

Available either at the shelter or in your home. These lessons can cover any obedience level, puppy through advanced.
